| Willmar Ambulance Service Today | ||||||||||
Willmar Ambulance Service provides many levels of care ranging from Basic Life Support to Advanced Life Support and Critical Care. We are staffed full-time, 24 hours, seven days a week. We have five ambulances and two sprint vehicles. There are three crews on duty each day, seven days per week. There are seven full-time emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and seven full-time paramedics. There are also 18 casual (on-call) EMTs and paramedics. All Willmar Ambulance staff are trained in IV therapy. EMTs are trained to assist paramedics with medication administration. We've adopted a response time standard that requires that our first ambulance be enroute within 90 seconds after being dispatched. This standard has to be achieved in 90 seconds 90% of the time. We currently average 62 seconds for this standard. We also require that we arrive on scene after dispatch within ten minutes 90% of the time. Willmar currently averages eight minutes. We are located at the corner of Becker Ave. SW and 2nd St. SW, across the street from the emergency entrance to Rice Memorial Hospital. |
