Transfer Communication Process

 Willmar Ambulance Service (WAS) transferred 296 patients in 2007.These patients were transferred to other hospitals or medical facilities other than Rice Hospital. Patients are transferred to another hospitals to receive further care that Rice Hospital does not offer. Willmar Ambulance paramedics are trained to take Advanced Life Support (ALS), Basic Life Support (BLS) and Critical Care transports. Ambulance crews are enroute within 90 seconds of being paged for a transfer. Not only does WAS take transfers from Rice Hospital and ACMC, in 2006 began assisting other hospitals in transporting their patients to higher level of care.
