DISASTER TRAILER

The disaster trailer is used by Willmar ambulance for many different reasons. The trailer is designed to be a communications center as well as storing equipment that may be needed in a disaster. The communications center contains phone lines, a fax machine, radio equipment, computers, and portable radio for disaster staff. The communication center is also able to page fire departments, ambulance services, and other rescue personal. The storage compartment contains everything from bandaging supplies to cots for patients to lay on. There is also oxygen tanks, bottled water, decontamination equipment and coolers stored in the trailer. One of the yearly events that the trailer is used for is Sonshine Music Festival.  The trailer has also been used to assist law enforcement and disaster teams.
